This Level 2 EV Charger by EVWILD, that’s geared towards Tesla owners, is a good value, solid option for any Tesla owner. Let’s take a closer look at what may or may not make this a good choice for your situation. I. Quality – This charger looks and feels like a decently made choice that appears to be made out of good quality materials, but it has a very generic version. I’d put the overall quality in the middle level of the quality scale and guess it should hold up if the electronics do. II. Performance – It’s been a great performer that’s easy to use, fairly high abilities with a 32 Amp max, which is the same as the charger that came included with my Tesla. Some are offering as high as 50A, but it’s rarely needed and comes with a high cost typically. The cables are average thickness, with a very short 16.5 feet, versus what’s available currently. It doesn’t come with any wall mounts for the main unit of charging end (many do include mounts). The included bag is very cheap, but it holds it if you’re going to put it in your trunk. Overall, this is a functional way to get a higher level of charge without breaking the bank. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.
This tesla Level 2 charger is definately a must have for your home charges fast and may require an adapter for your plug depending on what you have available its 6ft with a 240Vlt i use it on my Tesla Y and love it definately a must have highly recommend.
Nice quality, convenient length, portable: This car charger is clearly well made - the parts are all durable and the unit as a whole is nice and heavy, with thick wires and well constructed hard plastic plugs. The control unit is also nicely crafted and pretty durable, and since the control unit doesn't rely on mechanical buttons, the unit is more easily waterproofed and gives me greater peace of mind that nothing will go wrong in the rain while charging. This unit is particularly convenient due to the longer charging cord, as I don't need to get as close to the charger as my last unit. The entire set is also simple to wrap up and fits snuggly inside the included carrying bag - the bag itself is pretty basic and doesn't offer physical protection to the unit, but it is very easy to carry around and fits in your car or trunk nicely. Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend.
Have previously been using Level 1 chargers at home (with an adapter), so was excited to get my hands on a Level 2 charger. Build quality is ok - the 5m cable is noticeably chunkier than my other EV chargers and has a connector that seems equally sturdy. Design seems to be lifted from Tesla’s supercharger handles but they do note that the button is not functional. The main body of the charger looks and feels a bit cheap and has a few buttons to access the features. Looks nicer when it’s powered on though. You can press and Hold the Time (0-12 hours in hour increments) or Current (8-32A) buttons to access those settings, then increase or decrease with presses of the plus and minus buttons. Very simple and easy. But a little redundant.. if it’s plugged into a NEMA 14-50 receptacle, 32A should be well within range. And you would usually want to charge as fast as possible at these rates..right? Timer is nice to have if on a TOU plan etc. Touch screen is capacitive I guess? I do like that there’s no physical button to fail or impact the weatherproofing! The cable that plugs into the wall has a very short length, so this is designed to hang down from the receptacle during use and, I assume, storage. There’s no cable management or wall hanger included. Only accessory included is the carry case, which does the job (material is thin and zipper feels a bit rough but works). Looking at the other charger models listed by the seller on this very page, I can’t help but feel that this one is not the best choice if you have multiple EV vehicles (we have a Tesla and a Hyundai) and need to charge using outlets other than NEMA 14-50 (if you’re traveling etc). A Level 1 + 2 model that can handle 120-240V is (for us) a better option, and they have such models in this price range. 4/5 - not a bad choice but definitely check out their entire range before deciding.
Great product. Work as intented. Charge at 7 kwh so it adds 30 mph.
Product has been working good. Sometimes it does get a warning light and you have to reset it by unplugging it for sometime but other than that it has been easy and consistent.
This is a nice charger for an electric vehicle. It is easy to use. It seems tonfharge very well.
This charger has worked out perfect for our Tesla. We have a 240 outlet at our office that allows me to charge at work.
I am very pleased with the product. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and seems to be built very well and sturdy. Highlyrecommend it.
Got this a while back, waited a couple months to review. Actually got this for a roommate, as they often had trouble charging their Tesla due to cord length. So far they haven't noticed any slower charging or anything, and the cord is still in great condition. They no longer have to park strangely in our little shared parking area just to barely reach an outlet!
This is a standard level two EV charger that is very intuitive to use and pretty fast. It charges at 32 A which is plenty fast but not the fastest on the market. For the price point though, it¡¯s a good buy.
This Tesla charger has made charging at home so much more convenient. The 16.4ft extension cord gives me plenty of reach, and the 240V, 32Amp output charges my Model 3 much faster than the standard charger. The NEMA 14-50 plug fit perfectly with my garage setup. It¡¯s portable, so I¡¯ve taken it on trips, making finding a charge spot less of a worry. The build feels sturdy and has handled regular use without any issues. A must-have for Tesla owners looking to upgrade their charging game. Just remember to check your home electrical system can handle it before diving in.
Very easy to use , charging time is pretty fast. Well made with good instructions on it . Great price point.
This level 2 charger does work pretty well, it is very close to the same performance as the original mobile charging kit when connected to a 14-50 (dryer outlet) outlet. Unlike the Tesla mobile charging kit however, the plug at the end is not interchangeable, so it only works with the big 4-pronged 14-50 plugs. Still, at this price that might not be a big deal for you, especially if you mainly plan to use it at home and you have the correct 14-50 outlet already. But even then,?there are other OEM level 2 charger options out there that are either less expensive or have more features at this price range. (For example the button not opening the charging port). Overall, still 4/5 for me, but you might be able to find a better deal.
Great emergency charger! You never know when you are gonna be without a supercharger. So we always pack this Level 2 NEMA 14-50 Plug charger. The cord is over 16 feet. and although is not the fastest. By the time you wake up you should have enough charge to take you to a 250kw Tesla supercharging station. Color is mature and matches the rest of my emergency equipment. Fits easily in my Frunk. Good price.
